An LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a light bulb that uses a light-emitting diode (LED). It works by passing an electric current through a semiconductor, converting the electrical energy directly into light energy. This differs from incandescent bulbs, which emit light from a hot filament, and from fluorescent bulbs, which use gases and coatings.
